Student Activity Units

The Student Activity Unit (UKM) is a forum for student activities that aims to develop student potential and have a background in activities that are not obtained from lectures. This organization is under the guidance of a supervisor appointed by the Chancellor.

Tapak Suci Putera Muhammadiyah is a martial arts organization within the Muhammadiyah environment which is based on the Quran and Sunnah. Tapak Suci Putera Muhammadiyah was founded by M. Barie Irsyad on July 31, 1963. Branch 19 is Tapak Suci owned by UMSurabaya (Tapak Suci Branch 19 UMSurabaya)

Saraswati Dance UKM is a forum for developing the talents of UMSuabaya students in the field of dance. Saraswati Dance UKM will learn about classical dance and traditional creations to modern dance. In addition, there is also a beauty class agenda to bring the right facial makeup to express the type of dance.

E-Sport is an electronic organization with multiple players. The vision of the UMSurabaya E-Sport UKM is the realization of the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya campus as a campus that achieves and is respected in the field of E-Sport. Creating strong and mutually beneficial relationships between students who have an interest in the field of E-Sport.

Sunrise Choir is a student activity unit in singing. UKM Sunrise Choir was established in 2016. The establishment of Sunrise Choir is inseparable from the creativity of UMSurabaya students in terms of singing, this is where their skills are developed.

ORMABES is the designation of the sports student activity unit to establish togetherness. ORMABES which is a forum for UMSurabaya students in the world of sports. Currently, ORMABES oversees 4 sports namely, futsal, basketball, volleyball and badminton. Not only in sports, ORMABES is also engaged in social activities.

Ju Jitsu is a defensive martial art. This martial art is popular because of its flexibility where an attack from an opponent does not have to be faced with force but by "Utilizing the opponent's power" so that the attack power can be used to defeat himself. This martial art has various techniques namely, punches, kicks, throws, locks and grips.

MUPALAS is a student activity unit for nature lovers engaged in environmental preservation. MUPALAS UMSurabaya has 4 divisions, namely, rock climbing, mountain forest, conservation and caving.

Hizbul Wathan or known as HW is scouting owned by Muhammadiyah. HW is Islamic scouting, meaning that the scouting education carried out by HW aims to instill Islamic faith and form students with noble character. The KH Mas Mansyur caravan is a scout owned by UMSurabaya and was established in 2017.

UMSurabaya Karate UKM as a forum for asking for and student talents in terms of martial arts. Karate is a sport that requires speed. Speed in karate is needed when carrying out attacks such as kicks and punches, because in karate sports domination uses the hands and feet.

UKM Science Community UMSurabaya is a unit that accommodates students' interests and talents in terms of writing, research, reasoning, and science. UKM Science Community is a place for development to become a better person in terms of academics, character, and competence in the organization.

Sunbeam is a student activity unit that deals with music. Sunbeam music UKM is a place for channeling and developing talents and increasing the creativity of UMSurabaya students in the field of music.

Theater Sanggar Satria or abbreviated as TESS is an UKM with an arts background. In this UKM TESS, students will learn many things about the arts of music, dance, drama, literature, fine arts, and cinematography.
